Fiona Tunnicliffe stars at Wanganui Potters Society annual exhibition

Renowned potter Fiona Tunnicliffe is the guest artist at this year's Wanganui Potters Society exhibition.

The exhibition, Ceramic, is open from Saturday at the Whanganui Community Arts Gallery on Taupo Quay and features work from Tunnicliffe and the society's members.

Tunnicliffe is an award winning ceramic artist who has been working as a fulltime potter for about 30 years and is a former Wanganui Polytech ceramics course student.

Some of the work from the members was made during a workshop with her in 2017.

Wanganui Potters Society treasurer Pauline Walton said most of the work on display was for sale.

The exhibition, which also features photography from Tracey Grant, runs until May 5 and is open (9am to 4pm Saturdays and 10am to 4pm weekdays.

The society had about 80 members, she said, and was going through a period of growth.

It runs club days on Wednesdays 9.30am to 1pm and 6.30pm to 8.30pm and on Thursday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at 19 Taupo Quay.
