Fighting fit Baloo to move to Marton

Baloo is coming to Marton.

The horse featured in the Chronicle last November as New Plymouth woman Athena London sought donations on Givealittle to help bring him back to full health and move him with her to Marton.

Last year Ms London spotted the horse in a paddock looking ill and asked the owner if she could take it into her care.

She thinks the horse is the former race horse Skywalker which won more than $1 million when in Hong Kong.

Ms London is still in the process of moving to Marton but Baloo will be transported next weekend.

"Basically he's put on all his condition and he's the weight he should be," Ms London said.

The Givealittle campaign raised $714, about a third of the money spent on Baloo's recovery.

But Ms London said it was a huge help.

She said once Baloo was settled in Marton people would be able to come and visit him.
