"MY WHOLE body went tingly and I started shaking." And that was just reading that some guy in Wanganui had scooped $4.3 million on Lotto.
Gutted to report that ... no, it isn't me. That's why I'm still at work writing this piece.
Immediately, all across town, the 'Sudden-Wealth Antennae'went up ... who could it be? Hopefully, a near-neighbour with a long enough memory to recall that time you helped him out (was it a cup of sugar or had his battery gone flat?).
Like many out there, I was looking for clues and the anonymous interview with Wanganui's "Sudden Millionaire" in Wednesday's Chronicle provided a few.
For a start - girls - Mr $4.3 million is single. He's also tech-savvy, buying his Powerball ticket online, and on the modest and humble side - notified he'd won a major prize, he only expected about $20,000.
He's also extremely sensible - at least, with money - deciding to let his bumper windfall sit in the bank till things settle down.
He plans to cut down on his working hours, which suggests self-employed or at least in a job with some flexibility, and he intends to do some volunteer work, so that's both the good-hearted and community-spirited boxes ticked.
The biggest clue he revealed is that he's a bit of a cricket nut, with a sizeable flat-screen TV to watch the Black Caps' bid for the Cricket World Cup top of his shopping list.
And, with a certain inevitability, he's going to splash out on a flash new car. Best keep on eye out on the car yards for a tingly, shaky man in an NZ cricket top. Unsurprisingly, he does not wish his name to be made public, so we can only - without the slightest hint of envy - wish Mr X well. And cross our fingers as we await tonight's Lotto draw.
