Family-friendly Kelly Bros Circus heads for Whanganui

Trevor Kelly aka Trobo of the Kells Bros Circus is bringing his 'affordable' circus to Whanganui.

Trevor Kelly literally ran away to join the circus and now the Taumarunui-based man is touring with his own company.

Kelly Bros Circus is in Whanganui next weekend with six shows across two days accompanied by The Travellers Pop Up Fair.

"Since I was five my dream was to own a small circus," Mr Kelly said. "So I'm living the dream."

"We're smaller than others out there but we still perform a good show."

He said Kelly Bros was animal-free and at $5 a ticket the aim was to be family-friendly.

"We are trying to make it affordable for families."

Joining the Kelly Bros Circus is The Travellers Pop Up Fair run by Marton couple Ray and Jeanette Poulson.

Mr Poulson said their fair was made up of a variety of stalls and entertainment, including crafts, food and face-painting.

Shows are on at 10am, 12pm and 3pm on September 30 and October 1 at the Wanganui Racecourse.
