Central Enduro series leader Seth Reardon is in fine form to claim the junior grade title in the final round in Paihiatua at the weekend after a podium finish in the gruelling Tarawera 100 motorcycle cross country event near Whakatane.

Last weekend the 16-year-old Wanganui High School student was in a field of 160 near Whakatane and finished third against older riders in the under-19 open class grade onboard his Suzuki RMZ250. Tauranga ace Ben Townley was the overall winner of the annual event.

Father Brian Reardon said the 100-mile (160km) track was a gruelling test for both man and machine with the terrain made up of fast open farmland, steep up and down hills and tight forestry tracks.

Reardon will be competing in the final round of the Central Enduro series this weekend in Paihiatua and is leading the series in the Junior grade and class. Reardon already has the junior national enduro title.
