A car rolled after the driver lost control on the gravel section of Handley Rd.

Emergency services were called to a single vehicle accident at Kai Iwi near Whanganui on Tuesday morning.

A police spokeswoman said emergency services were called at 11.05am to a crash on Handley Road between Maxwell Station Rd and Kai Iwi Valley Rd.

Senior constable Phil Randal attended the scene and said there were two occupants in the vehicle.

Randal said the driver lost control on the gravel road and hit the bank on the side of the road before overturning.

A St John spokeswoman said one person with moderate injuries and one with minor injuries were taken by ambulance to Whanganui Hospital.
