Duo will drive high-tech change for Alarm Watch

Whanganui online security firm Alarm Watch has boosted its IT team with Murray Springer joining senior technician David Morgan.

Company general manager Wade Coneybeer said Mr Springer had worked with another alarm company for 15 years and with Mr Morgan for 10 of those years.

Mr Morgan is Alarm Watch's senior alarm and camera technician and Mr Springer brings an extensive knowledge as a security specialist also.

"They will both have critical roles in a fast changing industry with many of the older systems around Whanganui being upgraded due to the new technology that's becoming available," Mr Coneybeer said.

That technology includes an access control system that uses an iPhone to create a keyless unlocking system for doors. "They've also been using a new video verification system that sends a video clip of any intrusion on any property around the country to our monitoring centre here in Whanganui," he said.

"It lets us see whether we need to send out a security guard or not, saving clients hundreds of dollars in the cost of callouts."
