Whanganui band Drones are blending genres for their next headline event.
DRONES X BASS is on at Mint Cafe and Bar on April 29 and features the instrumental metal group supported by drum n bass DJs Noyer ft. Machete Clan, and Unwell.
"The concept of this event was to bendthe rules and bring two different genres of music together, creating a varied and interesting live music experience," Drones' Ethan Coleman said.
"There are similarities between the drum 'n bass style and the style of Drones such as the high energy live performance and bouncing musical grooves."
He said the two genres had a good following in Whanganui and was hoping for a big crowd. "We aim to bring together the different crowds of each style for a night and open people up to other genres of music."
