There's a new Detour on Whanganui's Liffiton St.

The food to go outlet, owned by Lyn Crawford who also owns Springvale Cafe in Devon Rd, has its official opening day on Wednesday, March 6.

Detour will offer the same cabinet food and coffee as Springvale Cafe but there will be no sit-downs - everything is to take away.

"Everything at Springvale will still be as good as it always is and Detour will be like a mini-version of what we do," Crawford said.

"We will get people who are travelling through on State Highway 3 and staff from businesses in the area."
