There were prizes aplenty for the Wainhouse family at the Cebris 4 Hour and Motomuck Junior 90 cross country endurance racing in the hills above Taupo on Saturday.
Around 450 riders, including 28 Whanganui locals, entered the events, with the 4 Hour being one of the biggest cross country racesin the North Island.
Riki Wainhouse won the 12-14 year division of the Junior 90 race, while father Shayne Wainhouse entered the 4 Hour and came third in the Over 50's class.
The 4 Hour is a real challenge solo, with each lap taking around 45-50 minutes on the 30km course, heading through bush, forest and farmland.
The Wainhouse family compete in a lot of these types of events throughout the year.
