Crews from the Feilding Volunteer Fire Brigade were called to a Feilding address on Wednesday night.
Emergency services were alerted to a small fire in a lounge just after 11pm.
Three fire trucks from the Feilding Volunteer Fire Brigade attended and the fire was quickly extinguished.
