The number of active cases reported in the Whanganui Region is 430. Photo / NZME

There were 55 new community cases of Covid-19 in the Whanganui region reported on Thursday by the Ministry of Health.

This brings the number of active cases reported in the region to 430.

Twelve people were in Whanganui Hospital with Covid-19.

Nationally, the ministry reported 4818 community cases of Covid-19.

Throughout the country, 571 people were in the hospital with Covid, 13 of whom were in intensive care.

The ministry reported 24 Covid-related deaths.
