Covid-19 Omicron update: 82 new Community cases in the Whanganui region

There were 82 new community cases of Covid-19 recorded on Friday in the Whanganui region, according to the Ministry of Health.

The ministry also reported eight people were in Whanganui Hospital with Covid-19.

Nationally, 5296 new community cases were recorded.

Throughout the country, there were 605 people in hospital with Covid-19, 17 of which were in the ICU.

There were 19 Covid-related deaths reported by the Ministry.
