Women's Refuge Whanganui is ramping up for a repeat of last year's successful Charity Chest fundraiser.

The Charity Chest pop-up shop, selling clothing, footwear, handbags and accessories, raised more than $20,000 for the organisation during its three-week operation.

Event organiser Carla Jayne Smith said the pop-up shop would open again for three weeks from Saturday, September 22.

"We have some exciting donations and plan on a huge opening night," Smith said.

The shop will sell donated items, some used and some new, and will be staffed by volunteers.

It will again be at 52 Victoria Ave near the Watt Fountain.

The fundraiser begins with a fashion launch party on Friday, September 21, which will include a celebrity guest speaker plus a DJ, fashion parade and a chance to shop ahead of the store's opening to the public the following day.
