"We hope people will set their alarms to start the day a bit earlier although they won't need to make breakfast so they may not have to," said Ms Onderwater.
The breakfast is one of many activities on offer for Bike Wise Whanganui running throughout February and early March.
"The Clean-up Ride and the New Places to Ride events were really successful and well attended but sadly the Rivercity Wheelrace Carnival had to be cancelled on Saturday."
Ms Onderwater said the wet weather made the event too dangerous and it was disappointing to have to cancel.
Other events coming up are the Kiwi Kids Bike Race Series starting with a first event at St Johns Hill School on Sunday February 18.
A Twilight Ride on February 23 will follow the Whanganui River with a few significant stops along the way and cyclists are encouraged to join La Fiesta's popular Frocks on Bikes event on Sunday Feb 25.
Velo Ronny's Bicycle Store in Wilson St will run a $10 maintenance workshop at 5pm on February 26 and each participant will receive a $20 store credit.
Tri Whanganui will be held at Whanganui East Pool this year and there will be short and long distance run-bike-swim races from 8am on Sunday March 4.
The month will end with a "Bike-alicious" film night at Davis Lecture Theatre on March 8.
There will be a screening of short cycling films from around the world promising plenty of "action, drama and humour" as well as inspiration.
