The Carlton School senior students are getting all geared up for the Wanganui Primary School Athletics championships next week after enjoying their own sports day yesterday.
Taking part as individuals and in inter-house competition, around 150 children took part in running events from sprints through to 300m and 400m, long
jump, high jump, and shot put. They also threw Vortex balls and quoits, because they are too young to take part in the full javelin and discus events.
Next week's Wanganui championships will be at Cooks Gardens on the Tuesday, with the Thursday back-up day in case of rain.
