A car that lost control and hit a concrete power pole and a fence in Okoia is not the first to crash on that stretch of road, a resident says.
Whanganui Fire senior station officer Bryce Coneybeer said the car looked to have lost control on No.2 Line and slammedbackwards into the pole, then forwards into the fence.
The callout came about 11.15pm.
"They were okay, they were walking," he said.
Mr Coneybeer thought there were two occupants in the car, but they did not have to be cut out.
An Okoia resident, who said the car was still "embedded" in her neighbour's fence on Friday morning, said the stretch of road was particularly bad for crashes.
She said they had three crashes in the area in as many months.
The woman said something needed to be done to stop cars speeding on No.2 Line.
She said her eyesight was good, but some cars went by so fast she couldn't tell what colour they were.
