Police arrested a 46-year-old Bulls man on Friday and charged him with manufacturing methamphetamine.
The arrest was made following a planned search warrant, Manawatu area investigations manager Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Sheridan said.
Equipment allegedly involved with manufacturing methamphetamine was seized and taken for forensic testing.
Methamphetamine is a very
harmful and highly addictive drug. Mr Sheridan said police were concerned that any members of the community would consider experimenting with it or continuing to use it because of its serious consequences to them and others.
But he said because of the addictive nature of meth, some users do resort to crime in order to fund their habit. This was most often linked to shoplifting and burglaries, with small and easily transferable commodities targeted.
