More than 500 people turned up to the second McDonald's Mud Muster on Saturday.
At the Tyrone farm in the Turakina Valley, participants were challenged by rugged hills, ponds and streams, a vertical wall climb, a cargo net crawl, a slip and slide and, of course, plenty of mud.
Organiser Rachel O'Connor said there were 530 entries - well up on 350 last year. "A few didn't turn up because of the bad weather but we were still really pleased by the turnout."
Saturday's rain made for "perfect mud muster weather" and there were no major injuries, Ms O'Connor said.
The event has already been confirmed for next year.
