Tech Whanganui Netball Club netballers are celebrating a goal come true thanks to support they will receive from ANZ this week.

The sports club has been awarded new training equipment - bibs, gear bags and balls - allowing the players to take their training to the next level.

Ripeka Menehira applied for assistance, asking for new gear for her team.

Tech Whanganui embraces women from different backgrounds and ethnicities, supporting their individual needs, whether they are playing for fun or to improve their netball skills.

The new equipment will alleviate some of the financial stress on players' families and help them train effectively and perform to the best of their abilities come gameday.

Over the past five years ANZ has supported teams, clubs, schools and players all over New Zealand to the value of nearly $500,000.

"We are proud to support netball at every level, from grassroots right up to the elite ANZ Premiership and Silver Ferns," ANZ head of sponsorship, Sue McGregor said.

"We know sometimes all you need is just that little bit of extra help to achieve your goals, so we are committed to helping as many netball fans as we can.

"We're thrilled to be able to help Tech Whanganui players with this new netball gear for their training sessions and match days. We hope the teams step on to court with the confidence to play at their highest level."

ANZ is providing assistance to netball communities across the country to help them achieve their netball aspirations.

Applications for the season are still open, so anyone involved in netball can tell ANZ what they need to help achieve their netball goals at anzcourtside.co.nz
