The Caltex service station in Victoria Ave was robbed on Sunday night.

Four young people have been arrested following the aggravated robbery of the Caltex service station in Victoria Ave about 10pm on Sunday.

Whanganui Police area commander Nigel Allan said that after attending the robbery, police investigations during the evening led to the location of three youths aged 13 to 16. They were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. A fourth person, aged 17, was charged with being an accessory. Police recovered a substantial amount of property stolen in the robbery.

Mr Allan was unable to provide further details because the matter is now before the court.

The four people arrested appeared in the Whanganui District Court and Youth Court on Monday.
