A trip down memory lane for Castlecliff with new mural

The latest addition to the Rangiora St makeover is another nod to Castlecliff's past.

Artist Dan Mills has almost completed this mural depicting the tram that used to service the beachside suburb.

"It's what used to be the tram stop way back, and it's part of the spruce-up of Rangiora St that's going on," Mills said.

He started the work last week and plans to finish the piece on the next rainy day.

Mills designed the mural himself - "with a bit of a nod in a certain direction" - based on images, pieces from magazines and the old Castlecliff steam tram.
