Their time has come ... Yukon Era will release their debut album in early 2019.

The Auckland post-punk quartet have already released three singles from the upcoming record - Tongue, Feel and Knife Skies - and have just shared a video for Tongue.

The clip's director Dylan Pharazyn said he wanted to create a film in which a woman has a strange encounter with another version of herself.

"I love the layers of meaning in doppelgänger movies .. the other self-representing a guilty past or a subconscious yearning for change or an inability to act... I've tried to create an emotional tale with a touch of the Twilight Zone weird."

Yukon Era have released two previous EPs - a self-titled EP and Consume & Scratch, both out in 2016.

Connan Mockasin will present an exclusive screening of an episode of his film Bostyn 'n Dobsyn, featuring material from his new concept album Jassbusters, the follow up to 2013's critically acclaimed album Caramel.

Unfolding at the Wellington Opera House and Auckland's Civic Theatre, the event will see Connan unveil Jassbusters to the world, an idiosyncratic band of high school music teachers fronted by Mr Bostyn - the ageing guitarist who plays the starring role in the accompanying film.

Connan and his band will round off the night with a live performance.

Ryan McPhun (Ruby Suns) will return to New Zealand for a rare solo show, supporting LA musician Julia Holter at her Auckland concert.

The Ruby Suns have been described as "architects of the true sound of New Zealand's summer bliss".

The January 24 concert at Auckland's Tuning Fork will mark Holter's first visit to New Zealand, and may well be McPhun's only 2019 show.
