TV On The Radio boast an eclectic style combining electronic and rock elements with an alternative sensibility

TV On The Radio perform the sort of music you might have seen on Radio With Pictures. Figures. The indie rockers from Brooklyn boast an eclectic style combining electronic and rock elements with an alternative sensibility.

Seeds, their fifth studio album, is their first since the death of bassist Gerard Smith, and many critics have noted the presence of grief and anger in the band's sound.

There certainly is an epic quality across the songs.

And an urgency in the music and its rhythms that lifts you as you listen -- take catchy first single Happy Idiot for example, which chugs along like a groovy train.

The relentless beat at times contrasts with the relaxed vocals and at other times matches the anguished cries.

But despite the clear pain on display, you only have to listen to a track like the fantastic Could You, a song with brass so exuberant and love so warm you can't help but smile like a happy idiot.
