The Flaming Lips
With A Little Help From Our Fwends

Even though this - the Flaming Lips' 14th studio album and a track-for-track tribute cover version of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - features all manner of music stars including J Mascis, Tegan and Sara, Maynard James Keenan and Moby, it will undoubtedly be best known for the appearance of one Miley Cyrus, who performs on an outrageous Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and on an A Day in the Life even trippier than the original.

It's a risky business, messing with a classic. The Lips have done it before with Dark Side of the Moon.

Here, they again walk the fine line between very listenable and very unlistenable.

Like the cover art, it seems at times the product of a nightmare world - it's certainly not easy listening.

But Flaming Lips' fans will know what to expect; Miley fans likely won't.

It's the Beatles, Jim, but not as we know it.
