My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is a story of parenthood and family dynamics.

Leading on from the original My Big Fat Greek Wedding movie I was looking forward to a few light laughs based around a highly stereotyped Greek family.

The movie's storyline still revolves around the main characters from the first movie - Toula Portolakos played by Nia Vardalos, and Ian Miller played by John Corbett.

They are now happily married with a teenage daughter who resents her large Greek family and is looking to move away to college.

The other main storyline is based around the discovery the Toulas parents are unmarried.

I found the plot a little slow and the storylines predictable from the get-go.

The turning points in the movie where almost clunky and didn't quite hit the mark of the first hit movie.

However, my teenage daughter who was with me found the humour funny and some of the storyline cute, so which is where it gains its PG rating from.

It has all of the loudness, arguing, gaudiness and celebration you would expect from this movie along with the charm of PG romance and comedy.

Perhaps the fact this movie tried to accomplish too much in one movie marred the overall outcome.

To cover topics like parenting teenagers, lost romance, same-sex marriage, traditional family pressures, lost relatives, family history and teenage love all in one movie was all a bit much for one movie.

Still, this movie is worth a watch with the family on a day when you don't want to have to think too much.
