The new range, called Tumeke Mega Nuts, includes three Kiwiana flavours - coconut rough, hokey pokey and choc orange.

New Zealand company Tasti is calling on Kiwis to help find a fan known only as Hemi, who inspired its latest range of bars.

The new range, called Tumeke Mega Nuts, includes three Kiwiana flavours - coconut rough, hokey pokey and choc orange.

The launch was the result of a call from Hemi last year, suggesting Tasti's bars be changed to Tumeke Bars and a selection of Kiwiana flavours be introduced. However, Hemi didn't leave a contact number and Tasti is keen to thank him for his inspirational idea.

Michael Tohill, brand manager for Tasti Products, says: "When we received the call from Hemi, we thought let's make it happen. The result was the creation of the limited-edition Tumeke Mega Nuts bars.

"Now we'd like to thank Hemi for his great idea, so we've set up the 'Chur Hemi Fund'. All we know is that he comes from 'up north', so we're hoping our fans will help find him by tagging a Hemi they know on our Facebook page."

As well as helping find Hemi, Tasti is inviting fans to vote for their favourite Tumeke bar flavour.

Fans have until the end of this month to vote to bring back one of the flavours permanently.

The first time that a voter connects to the competition on Facebook, Tasti will make a donation to the "Chur Hemi Fund", which will then go to Hemi as a thank you for his inspiration - if the real Hemi comes forward.

"We hope our fans enjoy the new Kiwiana-inspired flavours. We're looking forward to seeing how the voting goes and also to finding Hemi," says Tohill.

Fans can vote online until the end of this month at facebook.com/TastiNZ.

The winning flavour will be on shelves permanently from early next year.

We have six Tasti Kiwiana packs valued at $50 each to give away.

Each pack contains a multi-pack, retro cooler bag and tea towel, and a storage container, plus the new Tumeke Mega Nuts bars which include Hemi's three flavours. Send your name and contact details to competition@apn.co.nz by August 28 with Tasti in the subject line.
