Cropped, short-sleeved cardigans in summery colours such as red, orange, bright blue and greens, or white.

I would like to buy a dress for summer but most of the ones I've seen don't have sleeves and my arms need covering - they aren't what they used to be. What could I team with the dress to cover my arms?

You're in luck because this summer there are some wonderful options.

Shrugs/cardigans: Opt for cropped, short-sleeved cardigans in summery colours such as red, orange, bright blue and greens, or white.

Blazers: There some fabulous fitted blazers around, often with 3/4-length sleeves. These are a really good option because you can wear a blazer with almost anything, including jeans.

Sheer tops: You can get some lovely open-front sheer tops now, which you could team up with your summer dress. You could always tie the ends in a knot at the waist, depending on the style of dress.

Casual jackets: There is also the option of adding a denim jacket in blue or white. This will give you a more casual look.

Shawls: If you're out for the evening, you could always wrap a coloured shawl around your shoulders.

As tempting as it might be, avoid doing the likes of cardigans and jackets up. They often sit better when they're left open
