"We would have riots if we didn't sell it," he said.
On Thursday when the Wanganui Chronicle visited he had sold out by mid-afternoon.
When Mr Terrey bought the radiator business he already had 16 year's experience with the radiators of cars, trucks, tractors, bulldozers and other machinery.
He said he only sold good quality radiators and took pride in his work.
Radiators can get blocked up, and modern ones have plastic tanks that become brittle with age and crack. When that happens water leaks out or doesn't circulate and an engine overheats.
Mr Terrey's business repairs, replaces and re-cores radiators, and he has bought an analyser to check vehicle cooling systems.
He often services radiators brought in from out in the region - Patea, Waverley, Marton, Raetihi and Ohakune - and has had quite a busy winter.
The business he bought dates back as far as the 1950s. It started in Guyton St, was in Putiki for quite a few years and then returned to Guyton St in 1991.
