It's a big year for local printers H&A; Design and Print with the company celebrating its 90th anniversary.
Formally known as Hanton & Andersen, the firm was established in 1923 by William Hanton and Thomas Andersen. Both were foremen printers - Mr Hanton at the Wanganui Chronicle and Mr Andersenwith H.I. Jones Printers.
H&A; Design and Print currently employs 17 staff and they are led by the owners Ed Boyd and Hinemoa Ransom-Boyd. Mr Boyd became a partner at H&A; Print in 1975 so this year marks his 38th with the business.
The company has been a strong supporter of community groups and offers scholarships to local schools. H&A; is also well known as publishers of the Memories of Old Wanganui books.
And while digital printing has grown at a staggering pace, especially in the last 15 years, H&A; Design & Print has kept up with technical developments.
