Building contractors Keith Turner and Mike Marshall have been working on it for three weeks so far. They are joining some parts of the building together, partitioning off rooms and adding a ceiling to a large rear workspace.
The total size of the finished building will be 740 square metres, including a $300,000 extension at the back.
The finished building will have a 50 per cent larger shop space, with more room to sell office stationery. There will be separate rooms for a digital press, for an office and for design staff.
There will be windows between the spaces so that customers can see print staff at work - something Mr Boyd said a lot of people were curious about.
The business will get a new logo when staff move in.
It's the first time Mr Boyd has owned and designed the layout of a building for the business, and he's hoping he's got everything right.
H & A Print had has a lot of moves. It started in Guyton St in 1975, moved to Indus St in 1983 and then to its present location in Wilson St in the late 1980s.
