The Mitsubishi signs are shifting from one side of Purnell St to the other with Allison Autos being appointed service and parts agency for those motor vehicles in Wanganui.
The change comes in the wake of McVerry-Crawford no longer holding the franchise in the city.
Allison Autos owner Selby Allison said he
approached Mitsubishi Motors NZ about three months ago when news broke that change was happening.
"But it's only been decided in about the last week," Mr Allison said. "It's new business for us and that's good."
He said one of the technicians previously working at McVerry-Crawford would be joining his team.
Mr Allison said Mitsubishi Motors "were very concerned" that it might lose out on a presence altogether in Wanganui.
He said further down the track his company might look at picking up the new vehicle franchise as well.
"We certainly have the room here but I'd say that's a fair way into the future."
