Wanganui's Meteor Printers has a $300,000 addition to give its products - and its 24 staff - room to breathe.
The extension to the back of the old buildings in Ridgway St was built by W & W Construction. It's been in use for about two months and has its grand
opening on June 23, owner Warren Ruscoe said.
In that new room are a range of Office Products Depot supplies that the business had no space for in its former store. These include packaging, cleaning supplies, paper towels and the tea and coffee supplies used in an office donko.
"We were conscious that those products weren't in the public's face, and a lot of people were shopping out of town, particularly for packaging."
The original store is also larger, with its counter moved.
What the public can't see is the way the extension has also provided more space to those in back offices taking orders and answering telephones.
Mr Ruscoe said the business had two parts. One was the printing and design side. The other, the office products side, was part of a national co-operative of 39 owner-operated stores.
"We honestly feel that the recession is coming to an end and it's a time to strengthen the business and give additional service to the people of Wanganui."
