The Wanganui branch of ComputerCare NZ is proud to be sponsoring the Masters Games again.
The Palmerston North-based company, that has branches in Wanganui and across the central North Island, has been a top tier sponsor since 2006 and has just renewed its contract for another two years. The business will
provide a range of services for the games, including computers, servers and the latest software for the 8000 competitors flocking to Wanganui for the games.
The company will also be running the computer infrastructure with its four Wanganui-based technical staff and up to 12 more people who will commute from other centres, providing and supporting the software that processes the games data.
National sales and marketing manager Nick White and Wanganui account manager Peter Allison said their relationship with the games was a mutually beneficial one, and that they took great pride in providing the service for the community even in times of economic hardship.
"As a regional provider we operate on a smaller level than those in the big city, making us more responsive to our clientele. We are keen to show our support for the community we serve beyond the business we operate."
Because of this, Mr White believes ComputerCare holds the competitive edge in the regional industry as a medium-size player.
He attributes this to their technical staff, people from this region, most of whom have worked with multinational companies in IT and therefore understand the importance of good public relations as well as excellent technical service.
"The fact that most of us are from the region but have worked with the bigger players as well gives us the experience we need to provide top of the line service with a personal touch. We see no reason why people in the provinces shouldn't get the same as, or better service than the city"
He said the games was the perfect chance for them to connect with and be of service to their community.
