Wanganui firm Hunting & Fishing has good reason to feel confident of reeling in more custom when it moves to a new city location.
It is leaving its Taupo Quay home for a new one on the corner of Jackson St and Carlton Ave, hoping to swing open the doors by
September.
The 800sq m property will also accommodate a 20-seater cafe, serving coffee, buns and sandwiches.
Co-owner Clint Skedgewell said the reason for change of scenery was simple: cars, cars and more cars.
Transit NZ estimates 15,000 vehicles pass through the roundabout each day.
Mr Skedgewell figures that if he can lure 1 per cent of that traffic into his shop and cafe, his business will increase 25 per cent.
He said if that extra custom did materialise, he would have to take on extra staff.
