Accountancy business Markhams Wanganui is gearing itself up for the future.
It has bought the business advisory part of Silks Chartered Accountants, adding six staff to the 27 at Markhams who work in Wanganui and Waverley.
Director Warwyck Dewe said the business advisory team would be led by Alan Badcock and would move to Markhams' offices in Wicksteed St after March 31.
Silks Audit was now a separate business.
Former Markhams principal Stuart Wright retired on April 1 after 30 years. Nicola Gibbons has taken his place as principal, joining Mr Dewe, Rex McKinnon and Jeff Whitlock.
Markhams has recently formed an association with international network Moore Stephens, giving it access to specialist information.
