Home show bigger than ever

It's all go for the third Wanganui Chronicle Home Lifestyle Show this weekend.

There will be 100 stalls spread in the Jubilee Stadium at Springvale Park and it will be open from 9am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Wanganui Chronicle advertising manager Alison Hollard said the show will feature more demonstration stands than ever. Entry is by gold coin and all proceeds go to the Newspapers in Education programme. Every visitor can enter the competition offering a $75,000 home prize package.

"The Chronicle stands also have a good number of goodie bags for sale for $10 each. But inside are goods with a retail value of $110," she said.

National joy for Totalspan

Totalspan Wanganui has been recognised at the franchise's national conference, taking out the marketing excellence award.

The business, owned by Mike Paul and Denise Vincent for the past 11 years, beat more than 30 other franchisees for the award.

Ms Vincent said the award recognised the Wanganui company's efforts in marketing through a variety of media and the way it had developed a presence in its market area.

Sauce makers taste big-time

Business has taken a major step forward for a Wanganui-based sauce producer.

This follows an appearance at the Taste of Auckland festival last weekend for Sue Howe and her daughter Nicky and their Howe Saucy brand.

They launched the specialty brand of garlic sauce three years ago and have been marketing it locally. Ms Howe said having a stall at the festival was a great experience.
