Fifty years as a hairdresser haven't been enough for Ann Petherick.
Almost a fixture of Wanganui's hairdressing world, Mrs Petherick has trained 52 apprentices and worked hard to raise the bar in the industry. She thought that was all over when she sold her shares in Chonel Hair And Body
Spa about two years ago.
"My husband and I decided we would retire. We spent about six months last year touring Australia in a motor home."
The two returned to Wanganui in September and Noel Petherick went back to work. His wife needed something to do, so when Claudio Petronelli rang and offered her a job at Claudio Salon, she took it.
"It's quite good to be back getting up in the morning and meeting people that I used to look after," she said.
