Account firm now split into three

Accountants Bryce Smith, Murray Carey and Prue Anderson are separating their practices.

They were formerly all part of Carey Smith & Co.

The three made the decision to split in late 2011, and worked toward a January 30 date.

They have stayed in the same Wicksteed St buildings, Mr Smith's general manager Sonja Loveridge said.

She's now working for Bryce Smith and Associates, which has eight staff at 166 Wicksteed St. Mr Carey has four staff at Carey Chartered Accountants at 162 Wicksteed St.

Mrs Anderson, trading as Prue Anderson Accounting, shares that building with him. She has one staff member.

All three chartered accountants do the accountancy staples such as business and tax advice and family trusts, Ms Loveridge said.

Mr Smith and Mrs Anderson are also involved in some international trusts, and Mr Carey is involved in auditing.

The accountants occupy two buildings that are side by side, and the fire doors between them have been blocked off in the separation. Renovation work continues, to create a reception area at Bryce Smith & Associates.
