Cooking on stove leads to house full of smoke

Local fire crews were called to a house fire in Gonville just before 5pm on Thursday.

Food that was cooking on the stove and forgotten about led to the Harper St house being filled with smoke.

Fire crews assisted with removing the smoke with a positive pressure ventilation (PPV) fan.

A St John ambulance arrived shortly after and assisted two people with minor injuries from smoke inhalation. They received treatment on site and were not transferred.
