Two men stole cigarettes and cash from the SUPER Clearance store on Alma Rd in Whanganui at about 8.30pm on Thursday.

One of the men carried a metal bar into the store and struck the shopkeeper on the shoulder with it in the aggravated robbery.

The shopkeeper suffered a minor injury and police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

Director of SUPER Clearance Kuljinder Singh declined to comment.
