The Environment Court hearing about whether parts of an application to mine the South Taranaki seabed can be blacked out was expected to take two days, but wound up on Monday.
The application was made by Trans-Tasman Resources, which wants to mine iron-sand from the seabed off Patea. Kiwis Against Seabed Mining took the matter to court, supported by Ngāti Ruanui and fishing business Talley's Group.
The judge's oral decision is expected later today.
