Visitors from Whanganui's sister city Nagaizumi in Japan treated a local group to a vocal performance on Wednesday morning.
The young visitors from Nagaizumi Junior High School visited the Whanganui East Baptist Church where they performed for the Cafe Connect club.
The group of 12 students are hosted by Rutherford Junior High where they were welcomed with a powhiri before visiting the coffee group.
"My parents attend this group," said Rutherford principal Diane Henare.
"The group meet here each month and we thought it would be nice to bring the visitors here before we take them to see the sights of Whanganui."
The visitors are accompanied by three of their teachers and will be staying with Whanganui families for their eight day stay in town.
Accompanied by Rutherford student guides, the visitors were heading up to Durie Hill to enjoy the view after the concert.
