Firefighters came to the rescue of a child who got her knee stuck under playground equipment at Kowhai Park on Monday morning.
Senior station officer Bryce Coneybeer said the girl, who was about 6 years old, caught her knee under a merry-go-round.
"We took the merry-go-round up to get her
knee out," he said.
"It was quite black and bruised."
Mr Coneybeer said the girl's mother planned to take the girl to hospital to have her knee looked at.
