The man accused of ramming a police car with a ute in Marton appeared in the Whanganui District Court today.
Christopher Malcolm Duane Muir, 35, faces charges of causing aggravated injury with intent to avoid arrest, two counts of failing to stop for police, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, unlawfully converting a motor vehicle, reckless driving, doing a threatening act, burglary, male assaults female, wilful damage, and five breaches of a protection order.
The Lower Hutt man was remanded by Judge Philip Crayton to August 9 without plea.
No bail application was made and duty lawyer Stephanie Burlace said it was anticipated a mental health report would be needed.
