Three in hospital following crash

Three people were taken to hospital following a two-car crash on St Hill St this morning.

St Hill St in Whanganui is currently blocked off following a car crash which has hospitalised three.

The crash happened at about 9:30am outside the Royal Wanganui Opera House.

The two cars involved had come to a stop on either side of the road both with damage to the front of each.

Two ambulances and police attended.

Police officer Melissa Burroughs said there were three occupants in one car, including children and one in the other.

Three of the four were taken to hospital.

She could not yet say how the crash happened.

St Hill St is blocked from Maria Pl to Ridgeway St while the scene is cleared.
