Dolphy Kohu

Dolphy Kohu

Three more charges have been laid against a man who allegedly sparked a police manhunt in the central North Island last month.

Dolphy Kohu appeared briefly in the High Court at Whanganui yesterday along with two others who have been charged following the incident, Hereina Paul and Carlos Bushel.

Charges of reckless driving, failing to stop for police and unlawful possession of a pistol were added to the four Kohu was already facing, including the attempted murder of a police sergeant and knowingly using a firearm against police.

He also faces a charge of dishonestly taking a police car and another of dishonestly taking a Ford Telstar.

Justice Simon France deferred pleas for all defendants, including four others who didn't appear in person, and remanded them until November 17.

"All defendants will be required to plea on that day."
