What would you do if you looked in your bank account one day and found an extra eight grand?
Wanganui man Aidan Matthew Kelly's first response was to spend it all in two days, Whanganui District Court heard on Tuesday.
An unknown person made a phone call to Kiwibank on January 11 claiming to be an account holder, and set up a phone banking account, transferring out $9000, police prosecutor Sergeant Stephen Butler said.
On January 15, Kelly, who pleaded guilty to receiving property, checked his bank account to find $8095.
The victim, on the other hand, was unpleasantly surprised when checking their bank account several days later.
