The finale to a wonderful week of Wanganui fashion went off with a flourish on Saturday as 'ave Style wrapped up for another year.
"It was fantastic," Mainstreet Wanganui marketing manager Lisa Campbell said.
"It was the biggest crowd we've ever had, by far."
The finale began with fashion parades by local businesses, which was very well supported, Miss Campbell said.
This was followed by the Chronicle Creations parade, featuring innovative outfits made out of Wanganui Chronicle or Midweek newspapers and this year's entries were amazing, Miss Campbell said.
First place was awarded to KGB Design ? Kate Neilson, Gemma Miller and Beckah Banks ? for their creation Tied the Knot.
Second place went to Asian Wahine, designed by Talia Foster, Natasha Quirk, Samantha Rose and Monique Lawrence.
Jennifer Crawford's Headlines and Roses picked up third place.
Highly commended were Ricky Chant for Weaved Wonder Woman, Hannah Dennison for River Queen, Tamara Winterburn, Amy Gray and Katy Gurnick for Wedding Diva, KGB Design for Tebeth, Creative Courtyard for Man of Many Words, Genevieve Healy and Louise Barnicoat for Groovy Girl and Catherine Dimes for Fairy Wonder.
Hitting the catwalk next were the Wearable Advertising competitors with outfits designed to reflect their businesses.
"The businesses are getting more creative and putting so much time and effort into their outfits it's hard to judge," Miss Campbell said.
Wanganui Cycle Centre took out first place, with Mike Bates Plumbers second and Meteor Printers and Office Products third.
Overall the third annual 'ave Style was a great success, Miss Campbell said.
"It's just going from strength to strength, really. It started off as quite a small event and it has just grown incredibly. We already know next year's event will be even bigger still."
More than $1200 was raised for the Wanganui Skateboard Trust which hopes to get an indoor skating facility for Wanganui youth.
