After five weeks of play in the Far North Pool Association's 2012 winter competition, local commentator Sharpshooter noted a distinct look was starting to emerge in the standings.
"With consistency the key word in a team's place on the ladder, it says something about where they currently sit. The threeKauri Arms teams for a start are probably better than their current ladder positions, and will be out do better in the coming weeks."
The outstanding effort of last Tuesday's play saw Herekino Boar Hunters showing good all-round play in dishing it out to the Kauri Arms Renegades, 9-3 at Herekino. Also The Titans Black appear to be straightening their aim also in their disposing of the Waipap Black team 10-2, ladder top dogs Herekino Razorbacks weren't pulling any punches either, winning 9-3 over the KA Rebels, the local derby at Collards went to the Hawks 7-5, Titans Blue beat Waipap Gold 9-3, and Awanui 8 Ball pipped Kauri Arms All Day 7-5 but only after winning four games of doubles.
Picking his winners for tonight, Sharpshooter said the match of the round will likely be the Razorbacks hosting Titans Blue where a draw was on the cards; while the Boar Hunters, Wanderers, Hawks, Titans Black and All Day were the predicted winners in the other games.
Standings: Razorbacks 41 points, Titans Black 40, Titans Blue 37, Awanui 8-Ball 33, Collard Hawks 31, Collard Wanderers 29, Waipap Black 27, Boar Hunters 25, Waipap Gold 25, with All Day, KA Rebels, and Renegades all on 24.
